Switching from an Academic to a Popular Audience
In writing it is important for a writer to be adaptable. The most powerful aspect of writing is its ability to reach the masses. This ability requires a piece to be adaptable as to not limit the scope of who can access, and will choose to access, a piece of writing. With this task, I began with a very academically styled analytical review of an advanced sociological theory and adapted it. In doing this, my piece, that was once meant for a strictly academic audience, was reformatted in an Op-Ed style so that it would better reach popular audiences.
Original Academic Piece:
Title: How Law Behaves and the Effects of its Behavior
Revised Op-Ed Piece:
Title: Rethinking Lady Justice
